Trial pushed back for former Menomonee Falls preschool teacher charged with abuse

MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The trial for a former Menomonee Falls preschool teacher has been pushed back. 

Madeline Ferguson is facing physical abuse of a child charges. 

She's accused of mistreating at least two children at Cadence Academy in September of 2022. 

According to police, surveillance video shows the teacher hitting a child on the back of the head with a water bottle, then grabbing him by the neck and pulling him off the ground. 

In court Monday, Nov. 27, Ferguson pleaded not guilty. 

Her trial, which was supposed to start next week, is now scheduled for May of 2024. 

If convicted, Ferguson faces up to seven years in prison.
