Two Brewers named finalists for key MLB awards

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Despite the disappointing end to the Brewers' season, they still have two notable players that are finalists for key MLB awards.

Christian Yelich has been named a finalist for the left field National League Golden Glove Award. Yelich is coming off a season where he finished with a .252 batting average, 14 home runs and a .738 OPS. On top of that, Yelich also had a 2.7 WAR, according to Baseball Reference.

He will be competing against Diamondbacks' David Peralta and Cubs' Ian Happ for the award.

In addition, Corbin Burnes has also been named a finalist for the NL pitcher Golden Glove Award.

The 2021 Cy Young finished this season with a 2.94 ERA. On top of that, Burnes also recorded 243 strikeouts, which was second in the league behind Gerrit Cole of the Yankees, who had 257 strikeouts.

Burnes also had a 0.97 WHIP, ranking eighth in the league.

Burnes will be competing against Braves' Max Fried and Dodgers' Tyler Anderson for the award.
