US Navy Blue Angels pilot stops in Milwaukee to preview summer 2022's Air & Water Show
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The sounds of summer were in the air Monday, Dec. 13. You maybe heard it if you were anywhere near Milwaukee's Mitchell International Airport.
One of the jets from the U.S. Navy's Blue Angels precision flight team landed in Milwaukee Monday. They'll be featured this summer, July 2022, when the Milwaukee Air & Water Show returns to the lakefront.
Blue Angels Pilot Lt. Katlin Forster flew in to promote the Blue Angels' appearance and to check out the lakefront site for the show.
She says if you've seen the Blue Angels before, you may notice the planes are a little different this year.
"We have the F-18 Super Hornet. It is 33% larger than the original Hornets we were flying for the last 34 years. And really, bigger engines, bigger control surfaces, you can really see that 'U.S. Navy' in big, bright letters under the wings now," said Lt. Forster.
Milwaukee's Air & Water Show is scheduled for July 23 and 24.
