MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Data show already 5,700 Milwaukee voters have casted their ballot, and the state Supreme Court race is grabbing lots of people's attention.
Tuesday night, the two candidates' campaigns took part in a forum at UW-Milwaukee.
But candidate Daniel Kelly was represented by current Justice Rebecca Bradley.
She and candidate Janet Protasiewicz were both asked about abortion as a challenge to the state's 1849 law works its way throughout the court system.
"Obviously I can't comment on what I would do on any case," said Protasiewicz. "But my personal value is that a woman should be able to make her reproductive health care decisions."
"No candidate should be discussing his or her position on that issue," said Bradley. "It is prejudging the issue and it will force recusal."
Abortion is just one of the hot button issues on the campaign trail as this race will determine the balance of the court.
Both candidates have agreed on one thing -- a constitutional amendment that would allow judges to consider more factors when setting bail.
Voters will decide whether to enact changes to the bail system on April 4.
