UWM police seek suspect who sexually assaulted victim near campus
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Police Department is investigating a sexual assault that occurred near campus on Sunday, Dec. 10.
Police said it happened around 12:30 a.m., when the victim was walking near Edgewood and Downer and a suspect forced her into a wooded area and assaulted her.
Authorities describe the suspect as a white male, about 20-24 years old, standing 6'1" tall, weighing 200 lbs., with an average build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, red flannel shirt and dark gray jeans and was armed with a knife.
UWM police increased campus patrols following the incident and will continue to investigate.
