MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Vanguard Milwaukee opens its production of "On the Exhale" by Martín Zimmerman on Friday, Oct. 9, running through Monday, Oct. 12 at The Drawing Room in Milwaukee.
Director Annika Perez-Krikorian joined us Monday, Oct. 5 to preview the show.
The one-performer play follows a woman navigating grief and the search for accountability after a shooting, examining America's gun culture. It stars local actor Emily Vitrano. Perez-Krikorian, literary director at Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, is directing her first production with Vanguard Milwaukee.
The production is partnering with Moms Demand Action and Mothers Against Gun Violence Milwaukee, which will host panel discussions after select performances about gun violence prevention activism in the Milwaukee area.
