WHITEFISH BAY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Whitefish Bay police were called to N. Consaul and E. Lakeview Christmas morning, for reports of a vehicle falling into a hole. 

Police say upon arrival, they found that a vehicle had driven around signage indicating that the road was closed ahead, directly onto an area of the road that was unstable due to a water main break. 

The police department says the weight of the vehicle cause the road to collapse, and the car's front passenger tire became stuck. 

The hole continued to expand, and the vehicle continued to settle into the hole until it was winched out. 

Officials say the driver was not injured.
