Victim fatally stabbed in Lac du Flambeau
LAC DU FLAMBEAU, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Lac Du Flambeau tribal police responded to a stabbing on Saturday, Aug 19.
According to police, they received a phone call early Saturday morning. The victim was initially conscious and alert. The victim was able to identify his assailant at that time. Ambulance personnel arrived at the scene when the victim was beginning to lose consciousness. He died at the hospital from the critical injury.
It is believed that the murder weapon was a large butcher knife, which was discovered at the scene of the crime.
Female witnesses at the scene confirmed the identity of the victim's assailant, and law enforcement began to search for the suspect. He was spotted with another individual in a moving vehicle, where he was placed under arrest.
The suspect is in custody, therefore not seen as a danger to the public. It is not believed that the suspect was assisted by any other person.
