MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A food truck was robbed on Milwaukee's south side, leaving a hometown restaurant out of hundreds of dollars.

According to Milwaukee police, the robbery took place just after midnight Monday, May 13 near 19th and West National Avenue.

Security camera video captured two thieves reaching through the window of Tacos Guelaguetza and stealing the cash register.

"They [food truck owner] say they are afraid, because if they say something they're going to come back for them," said Antonio Gonzalez, a man who knows the owner of the food truck.

Police said the suspects pointed a gun at the employees of the truck and ran off with a drawer of money.

The owner of the food truck said, the robberies aren't going to stop them from continuing their business.

"There's more people here, and more Hispanics here, so we feel comfortable. The only thing we ask for is protection, for security", said Jose Gonzalez, food truck owner.

MPD said it is unclear what led up to Sunday's robbery and they are still looking for the suspects.
