MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- We're in the thick of the holiday shopping season, and while it's always important to shop local, it's taken even more importance this year.
There's still plenty of time to stop, and Milwaukee is full of incredible makers and unique shops with tons of gift options.
Emily Tau from Visit MKE explains two virtual maker fairs going on right now.
"If you don't know where to start, two of Milwaukee's favorite maker fairs -- Hover Craft and re:Craft & Relic -- have gone virtual this year. You can shop online by browsing their vendor directory which is incredibly extensive, and be sure to follow their social media accounts and join their email lists for some pop-up sales, too."
If you need a bite to eat, head on over to Story Hill BKC. It has a great selection of wine, spirits and craft beer along with upper Midwest-inspired food. Place a curbside order Friday, Dec. 11-Sunday, Dec. 13, and you'll be helping out a good cause as well.
"They will donate 10% of all those sales to Hunger Task Force, so not only are you getting a delicious meal, but you are helping a local restaurant in need and giving back to the community," says Tau.
