Wade and Diener combine forces again

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Dwayne Wade and Travis Diener are back together again for their Home Court Weekend July 16-17.

"Very special," Travis Diener says. "Mostly because I get to, you know, he comes back for a few days and we get to have a lot of fun. But also the impact it can have in the community."

"We understand what we did 23 years ago," Dwyane Wade says. "And that's great. But what else are you gonna do?"

Basketball is a kid's game. And that's why Dwyane and Travis love teaching younger athletes the sport they love so much.

"I don't even think some of them know it's Dwyane Wade," Wade says with a laugh. "Parents more than the kids. It's like, 'go get his autograph for me.'  I feel like I'm the smartest I ever been or ever am when I have that basketball in my hands. I feel like everything comes to me. I see things clear."

With Diener's roots in Milwaukee, basketball tends to bring up the Giannis trade rumors.

"I think -- I think it's getting a little old," Diener says. "So, something needs to happen one way or another. But I'm totally separated and neutral to it all. It's better when the Bucks are really good."

And Wade knows what it's like to hoist a trophy after an NBA title like fellow Marquette product Tyler Kolek.

"He said he got an 'A' on the group project," Wade says. "I love getting an 'A' on the group project. Sports is a group project. And everyone has their role to play, so Tyler played an incredible role for the team, and you know, we're just all proud."
