Waukesha County partners with local organizations to distribute Overdose Aid Kits

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow has announced an initiative to address the fentanyl crisis by partnering with local businesses, organizations and municipalities to distribute Overdose Aid Kit boxes.

The initiative was announced in a Tuesday, May 5 press release.

Produced by Serve You Rx, the OAK boxes contain Naloxone nasal spray, also known as NARCAN, a breathing mask, gloves, drug administration instructions, fentanyl testing strips and information about treatment and recovery support resources.

"Addressing the fentanyl crisis requires a collaborative effort from all corners of our community," said Farrow in the press release. Over 40 partners have reportedly already agreed to host OAK boxes, with a goal to distribute at least 200 boxes by the end of 2023.

Waukesha County also unveiled a data dashboard providing local information about the fentanyl crisis and prevention efforts. The dashboard includes an interactive map highlighting community partners and activities.
