Waukesha County reviving 'invisible sticker' system for park access
WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Waukesha County Park System has reintroduced its "invisible sticker" system for 2024 annual memberships, enabling access to nine parks and four lake areas. The sale of these memberships began on Black Friday, Nov. 24.
Dale Shaver, Waukesha County Parks & Land Use director, expressed enthusiasm about the system's benefits in a Friday press release. "The 'invisible' annual stickers streamline the process for users and allow our team to focus resources on maintaining clean, safe facilities."
The process for buying these memberships is aimed to be straightforward, as users no longer need to purchase a physical sticker or permit at park entrances. Instead, a scanner at each entrance reads vehicle license plates, validating connected memberships or permits.
This system not only offers convenience to users but also results in cost savings, with Waukesha County Parks noting that the resources previously allocated for designing, producing and distributing physical stickers are now redirected towards enhancing park facilities and services.
An added benefit for early buyers is immediate membership validity, extending through Dec. 31, 2024.
Memberships and permits can be purchased online within five days of visiting a facility by clicking here. Additionally, they are available in person at the Waukesha County Courthouse in the Park System Main Office and Retzer Nature Center during business hours.
