WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Waukesha teen accused of killing his mother and stepfather appeared in court Monday, Aug. 18.

Prosecutors say 17-year-old Nikita Casap shot and killed Donald and Tatiana Mayer in their home. Their bodies were not discovered until two weeks later. Casap was later arrested in Kansas while driving the family’s vehicle.

During Monday’s hearing, defense attorneys requested a delay as they await a federal report related to the case. The court granted the request and rescheduled the hearing for Thursday, Oct. 2.

Casap has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
