WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Wauwatosa city officials held a news conference Tuesday to provide updates on flood recovery efforts.
Fire and Emergency Chief Jim Case says there were more than 200 weather-related responses as well as numerous lifesaving rescues.
Officials said businesses and homes are starting to move from response mode to recovery mode, with initial damage assessments starting Tuesday.
While alarming at first, Tuesday morning's storms did not worsen the flooding issues in the Wauwatosa community.
"We have not received any additional flood-related calls, but as you can see from Director Simpson, we have had some wind and power-related issues," said Chief Case. "We Energies is reporting some power outages in the region, but as of now, nothing that has caused any emergency response from our standpoint."
Hart Park in Wauwatosa remains closed due to severe flood damage in addition to several roads throughout the area that experienced varying degrees of damage.
