WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A vehicle pursuit near Wauwatosa Ave and W. North Ave ended with suspects in custody and an officer injured.

Police say around 3:20 p.m. today, an officer located a suspicious vehicle near Wauwatosa Ave. and W. North Ave.

The officer tried to stop the vehicle, but it fled, and a pursuit began.

Police say the vehicle was involved in a mail theft before this attempted traffic stop.

The pursuit ended near 67th and Glendale, when the suspect vehicle crashed into a transport van.

The driver of the suspect vehicle was taken into custody. A second suspect ran from the vehicle and was also taken into custody.

Police say a third suspect may have been involved in this pursuit, but they are still investigating.

The officer was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries.

Both suspects taken into custody were also injured and taken to a hospital for treatment.
