We Energies: Electric customers to get $32 million in bill credits

CBS 58

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- We Energies electric customers will receive more than $32 million in automatic bill credits this fall, the company announced Thursday, Oct. 8.

According to the Thursday statement by the utility, a typical residential customer will get about $13 to $14, depending on electricity use.

The credits come from fuel costs in 2025 that were lower than the amount approved by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin, according to We Energies. Customers receive the difference as a credit.

Residential customers will get about 2 cents per kilowatt-hour used in October. A customer who uses 660 kilowatt-hours would get roughly $13.60, the company said. The credit will show up on October or November bills, depending on the billing cycle.

Customers do not need to do anything to receive it, We Energies says.
