MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Feb. 22 is now "We Energies Foundation Day" in the City of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County.
It was declared today by local officials to honor the foundation's major milestone.
One of those non-profits, the Greater Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee held a celebration.
They invited local leaders and members of the foundation to Mary Ryan Boys & Girls Club in the Sherman Park neighborhood.
"Well before I had the opportunity to present a proclamation honoring the We Energies Foundation, me and my organization were recipients of some of the grants that and support that this organization provides generally across the city of Milwaukee and elsewhere in the state of Wisconsin too," said Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson.
The We Energies Foundation also surprised the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee with a $15,000 check.
