The West Allis Police Department is investigating a dog biting incident that happened this morning near 67th St. and W. Lincoln Ave. It left a man and his dog injured.
According to police, the initial investigation reveals that two dogs left a nearby yard through an open gate and began to bite a third dog which was being walked on the street.
The adult male owner of the third dog attempted to separate the dogs and received a bite from one of the two dogs who had left the yard.
The man was taken to a local hospital for treatment of bite wounds. The man's dog was also transported to a local veterinarian for treatment.
Witnesses describe the two dogs that left the yard as a mix breed and a Rottweiler. The injured dog is being described as a beagle/shepherd mix. Police have not confirmed the dog breeds yet.
The incident remains under investigation.
