Winter parking regulations begin in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Although snow has not been much of a factor so far this year, the City of Milwaukee is preparing by notifying residents that winter parking regulations kick in on Thursday, Dec. 1.
The regulations will run until March 1, 2023.
Drivers with valid overnight parking permits must park on the side of the street with even-numbered houses on even-numbered dates, and on odd-numbered dates, drivers will need to switch.
During snow emergencies, those regulations start a little earlier, lasting from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. If no snow emergency is in effect, the regulations take place from 2 - 6 a.m.
Officials say posted signs take precedence, so read carefully before parking and follow those instructions before attempting to park.
Regulation violations risk fines of $50 to $150 per citation, along with the risk of vehicles being towed.
