Wisconsin cheese takes the spotlight at the State Fair

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Taylor Reisimer of Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin joined us Wednesday, July 29 to talk about experiencing Wisconsin cheese at the State Fair and bringing its flavors home.

Reisimer shared a couple of recipes fairgoers can recreate in their own kitchens. Caramel tiramisu-filled cream puffs use espresso mascarpone for that classic tiramisu flavor, while funnel cake Mozza whips take mozzarella string cheese, fry it golden and serve it with hot honey and strawberries.

She also highlighted this year's first-place winners from the State Fair Dairy Products Contest, which are on display in the Wisconsin Building. Select winning cheeses can be sampled each day at the Real Wisconsin Cheese Grill.
