WAUPACA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 41-year-old Wisconsin man was arrested for his second OWI, and authorities found he was 21 times over the legal limit.

It happened Monday, Jan. 12 on Highway 10 in Waupaca County. According to the Waupaca County Sheriff's Office, just after 6 p.m., a driver was reported to be swerving in the roadway at varying speeds and almost struck a guard rail.

Deputies performed a traffic stop and smelled a strong odor of alcohol on the driver. He was arrested for OWI, his second offense, as well as failure to install an ignition interlock device, and operating after revocation.

Authorities say due to his high level of intoxication, the driver was admitted to a hospital for medical care.

A preliminary breath test showed he had an alcohol concentration of .427, and due to him being .02 restricted from his previous OWI arrest, he was more than 21 times the legal limit.
