Wisconsin State Fair attendees use 38.44% more data this year
WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- It was a record-breaking year for U.S. Cellular customers' data usage at the 2018 Wisconsin State Fair.
According to U.S. Cellular, their customers made over 37.5 million data connections and used more than 11.41 terabytes of data which is a 38.44% increase over last year's State Fair usage.
The busiest day for data usage was Saturday, August 11.
The Wisconsin State Fair site was upgraded this year to increase capacity on the eastern grounds of the fair. This means more people were able to use their smartphones at the same time.
On a typical day (when no events are happening) the U.S. Cellular site on the State Fairgrounds serves a small portion of the city of West Allis and handles approximately 500,000 data connections and 170 GB of data.
