Wisconsin State Fair celebrates Cream Puff centennial with new flavors
WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin State Fair is celebrating 100 years of the Original Cream Puff by introducing limited quantities of new specialty flavors throughout the event, each available on specific days to commemorate the anniversary.
The centennial celebration honors the Cream Puff's debut at the fair in 1924.
Starting Thursday, Aug. 1, the Original Cream Puff Pavilion will offer these unique flavors to the first 1,924 fairgoers daily. The limited-edition flavors include Root Beer Float, Raspberry Cheesecake, English Toffee and Chocolate Birthday Cake.
From Aug. 1-3, Root Beer Float Cream Puffs will be available, featuring a light pastry shell filled with root beer cream. Aug. 4-6 will bring Raspberry Cheesecake Cream Puffs, combining raspberry flavor and cheesecake richness. English Toffee Cream Puffs, offered Aug. 7-9, blend buttery toffee with the classic puff. On Aug. 10, a one-day exclusive Chocolate Birthday Cake Cream Puff will be available, celebrating the 100th anniversary with a chocolate-filled puff topped with sprinkles.
Each specialty Cream Puff sold between Aug. 1-9 includes a chance to win a Golden Ticket. Three Golden Tickets will be awarded each day, granting winners a prize package and an invitation to the Cream Puff Lovin’ Celebration on Aug. 10.
Specialty flavor Cream Puffs will only be available to buy as singles, rather than three-packs or six-packs. They will be priced at $5 each.
