WISCONSIN DELLS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- About four-and-a-half months ago, CBS 58 talked with Wisconsin State Patrol Trooper Nicholas Lorenzen about driving conditions during the first snowfall of the season.
On Wednesday, May 3, as Sergeant Lorenzen was honored as Trooper of the Year.
It was the annual award ceremony held by the Wisconsin State Patrol and Lorenzen was recognized with one of the top honors.
"I couldn't be more proud of that," said Lorenzen. "The superiors that I work with are some of the best, some of the best in this profession."
Gov. Tony Evers was on hand as 34 awards were handed out to various troopers and State Patrol employees. Each was nominated by their peers and selected by an awards committee.
