Wrong-way driver arrested after leading police on pursuit in Brookfield

BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 39-year-old man was taken into custody after leading police on a pursuit in Brookfield on Sunday, April 11.

The Waukesha County Communications Center received a call of a possible drunk driver shortly before 2:30 a.m. 

The driver was traveling on I-94 near Brookfield Road. Officials say the driver approached CTH SS and made a U-turn. He then began traveling eastbound on I-94 in the westbound lanes of traffic.

Officials say squads from the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office attempted to stop the vehicle, however, the driver failed to stop and a pursuit ensued.

A deputy from the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office used a squad car to stop the vehicle and end the pursuit, officials say.

There were no injuries during this incident.

Wisconsin State Patrol, Brookfield police, and New Berlin police responded to assist.
