TOWN OF JEFFERSON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Jefferson County Sheriff's officials say one person is dead and another hospitalized after a single vehicle motorcycle crash on Saturday, June 6th.

Deputies responded to the scene along US Hwy 18 at around 7:47 p.m., where they found the motorcycle in a ditch between Bakertown Road and Coffee Road. 

Officials say the motorcycle had been traveling westbound when it drove onto the gravel portion of the shoulder on the north side of the road and was unable to recover, leading to the crash.

One of the riders was pronounced dead at the scene, while emergency crews took the other person to the hospital.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating the crash.
