1 dead, 1 injured in Racine burglary shooting incident

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- One person is dead and another hospitalized after an apparent burglary incident in the city of Racine. 

Racine police say it happened on Friday, July 11th, at 11:26 p.m. after they were called for a burglary incident near Saint Clair St. and Saint Patrick St. 

At the scene, two victims, a 52-year-old and a 21-year-old, were located with gunshot injuries with the abdomen. 

Emergency crews transported both victims to the hospital.

The 52-year-old died at the hospital, while the 21-year-old remains hospitalized.

Officials say the initial incident call came in as a burglary which led to the shots being fired.
