1 injured after shots fired during road rage incident in Menomonee Falls
MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Police are investigating a road rage incident that escalated into gunfire. It happened late Friday night, June 12, in Menomonee Falls. One person was left seriously injured.
The Village of Menomonee Falls Police Department says gunshots were fired in this area after a road rage incident.
One neighbor CBS 58 spoke with says he saw the whole incident, including when the victim’s car crashed the moment gunshots went off.
Police say it happened shortly after 11:30 Friday night.
Police say the road rage incident began at County Line Road and Bancroft Drive.
Both cars then travelled near Maple and Christman Road. According to police, one driver was following the other.
They called the pursuing driver the “victim.” Investigators says the driver being chased shot the victim, hitting their car and a nearby home.
Police say the driver of the pursuing car has a serious eye injury from gunfire debris.
CBS 58 spoke with the homeowner whose home was struck by gunfire. She did not want to go on camera but says no one in her home was injured.
Menomonee Falls police say they don’t believe the suspect and the victim knew each other.
Police have not released any additional information about the suspect so far.
