1 killed, 1 injured after car struck by tow truck in Village of Johnson Creek

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- One person has died, and another is injured following a crash in Jefferson County Monday, Aug. 12. 

It happened around 2:46 p.m. on WIS 26 at River Road in the Village of Johnson Creek, according to Wisconsin State Patrol. 

Officials say an initial investigation indicates the driver of a sedan attempted to cross State Highway 26 at River Drive and was struck by a tow truck traveling southbound on WIS 26.

State Patrol says both vehicles continued through the median and struck another sedan traveling northbound on WIS 26. 

One driver sustained fatal injuries. 

The crash remains under investigation.
