MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 14-year-old from Racine was pronounced dead after a hit-and-run on Sunday, Aug. 20.

According to the Mount Pleasant police department, the crash took place near Green Bay Road and Newman Road. The vehicle had hit a pedestrian. 

Numerous callers reported seeing a male struck by a minivan which was traveling northbound. During the investigation, it was learned that the vehicle did not remain on scene.

The vehicle was located and seized. The operator is still unknown at this time.
