2 injured, 1 seriously, following crash in Mount Pleasant

MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Two people were injured -- one seriously -- following a crash in Mount Pleasant Tuesday, April 18. 

Officers responded to the intersection of Washington Avenue and Oakes Road around 2:36 p.m. and began rendering aid.

Police say one of the drivers involved was flown via Flight for Life to Froedtert, where she remains in stable condition. The other driver was taken to Ascension Hospital, treated and released. 

The intersection, along with State Highway 20 around 90th Street, was temporarily closed while an investigation was conducted. 

Police say the cause appears to be based on operators' actions and no impairment is suspected. 

The incident remains under investigation by the Mount Pleasant Police Department and Wisconsin State Patrol.
