2 Kenosha officers connected to Jacob Blake shooting return to full duty
KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Two of three Kenosha police officers connected to the Jacob Blake shooting returned to full duty Wednesday, Jan. 20, according to the Kenosha Police Department.
Both Vincent Arenas and Brittany Meronek had been placed on administrative leave since August 23, 2020.
Neither were charged with a crime, and after review by the Kenosha County district attorney and an independent investigator, the actions taken by the officers were ruled "reasonable and justified."
Officer Rusten Sheskey, who shot Jacob Blake seven times in the back, remains on administrative leave pending the findings of a Kenosha police use of deadly force review board.
In early January, the Kenosha County DA announced that Sheskey will not face any charges in the shooting.
