WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) — Two men were taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after a police pursuit involving a stolen vehicle in West Allis.

According to the West Allis Police Department, officers responded around 2 p.m. to the area of South 73rd Street and West Grant Street for a report of suspicious activity.

When officers arrived, they located a vehicle matching the description provided by the caller. Police said the vehicle did not have registration plates.

Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the driver allegedly fled, prompting a pursuit.

The vehicle was eventually stopped near South 60th Street and Beloit Road after officers successfully deployed stop sticks and performed a pursuit intervention technique, or PIT, maneuver.

Police determined the vehicle had been reported stolen.

Two men were taken into custody.

The investigation remains ongoing.
