2 pedestrians seriously injured after being hit by vehicle near Pettit National Ice Center
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — Two pedestrians were hospitalized with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday evening near the Pettit National Ice Center and Wisconsin State Fair Park.
According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the crash happened around 5:30 p.m. at South 84th Street and West Kearney Street.
A preliminary investigation found a vehicle was traveling north on South 84th Street when the 27-year-old driver failed to yield at a red traffic signal and struck two pedestrians who were walking east on West Kearney Street.
The driver remained at the scene.
The pedestrians, ages 64 and 28, were taken to a nearby hospital with serious but nonfatal injuries.
The vehicle was towed from the scene, and police cited the driver for failing to yield the right-of-way.
