MILWAUKEE (CBS58) -- About 1 million people in Wisconsin are expected to travel during the Thanksgiving holiday and 90 percent of them will be driving, according to Nick Jarmusz, director of public affairs for AAA.
Nearly 51 million people will travel 50 miles or more for the holiday, which more than a three percent increase over 2016, Triple A states.
"Here in the Milwaukee area, you're probably going to see certainly some choke points heading out of the metro area," Jarmusz said. "If you're heading south down to the Chicago area that's one of the 10 worst traffic areas in the country, according to our data, so definitely plan on that trip taking a little longer than it normally would because it's going to be a huge hub for travelers throughout the Midwest."
