Oak Creek dealership sued after racial slur allegedly found on oil change sticker
CBS 58 OAK CREEK, Wis. (CBS 58) — An Oak Creek woman is suing a local car dealership after she says a racial slur was written on an oil change sticker placed on her vehicle following a service appointment last year.
Makayla Starks filed the lawsuit against Kunes Buick GMC, alleging racial discrimination and emotional distress.
According to the lawsuit, Starks discovered the slur on a sticker attached to the windshield of her SUV after having the vehicle serviced at the dealership.
The lawsuit also alleges the dealership later attempted to get the vehicle back by telling Starks that an employee had accidentally left a tool inside. Starks claims the effort was actually intended to remove the sticker.
Kunes previously said the employee responsible for the sticker was fired.
The dealership declined to comment on the pending lawsuit.
