21-year-old man arrested after 'unprovoked' stabbing at Pulaski Park
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A man has been taken into custody in connection to an "unprovoked" knife attack at Pulaski Park Wednesday afternoon, April 22.
The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a stabbing at Pulaski Park around 6 p.m. Deputies arrived and found that Milwaukee Police Department officers detained a 21-year-old man.
The 21-year-old was running from the park and appeared to have suffered from a fresh stab wound to the leg and a skull injury.
Officers treated the 21-year-old and found a knife and a makeshift tinfoil explosive on him. He was taken in custody and transported to an area hospital.
An investigation revealed that a 13-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man had suffered from stab wounds. The victims say the 21-year-old, unprovoked, approached and stabbed the 13-year-old who was sitting at a bench next to the basketball court.
The 19-year-old and another unidentified person came to the aid of the 13-year-old. The unidentified person produced a knife and stabbed the 21-year-old in the leg during the scuffle.
Another knife and tinfoil explosive were found at the scene.
Investigators say the 21-year-old claims he was robbed at knifepoint earlier that night by three individuals, who punched him and stole his sweatshirt.
The 21-year-old has pending charges of recklessly endangering safety.
