FOND DU LAC, Wis. (CBS 58) — A 29-year-old Medford man was arrested Sunday afternoon after authorities say he fled a traffic stop while intoxicated before driving onto a dead-end road.

According to the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office, a deputy attempted to stop the vehicle for a traffic violation shortly before 4:15 p.m. on Military Road near West Ninth Street in Fond du Lac.

Authorities said the driver accelerated instead of stopping, prompting a pursuit.

The pursuit lasted about a half-mile and ended after the driver turned onto a dead-end road.

The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was taken into custody without further incident.

The sheriff's office said the man is being held at the Fond du Lac County Jail on allegations of felony fleeing or eluding an officer and misdemeanor bail jumping.

He was also cited for operating without a valid license, failing to stop at a stop sign, possessing open intoxicants and first-offense operating while intoxicated.

No injuries were reported during the pursuit, and authorities said no property was damaged.

According to the sheriff's office, the man was out on a $500 cash bond through Taylor County at the time of the incident in connection with pending allegations involving disorderly conduct and endangering safety with the use of a dangerous weapon, both with domestic abuse enhancers.
