Man killed, 2 others injured in early morning shooting near Brady Street
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A man is dead, and two others injured, after a triple shooting near Brady Street early Tuesday morning.
Neighbor Sam Grochowski says he heard gunshots while getting ready for bed.
"Kinda sat, laid low, made sure I was actually hearing what I was hearing. Got up to the window, dozens of people kind of flooding out from this area, spider webbing out in different directions," Grochowski said.
Milwaukee police say those gunshots were fired just before 2 a.m. near E. Pleasant and N. Van Buren. Three people inside a car were hit, all 27 years old.
Officials say the victims were taken to a hospital for treatment, but one of the victims, Marquez Banyard, died of his injuries.
Shattered glass was left in the street, and four bullet holes were located in the walls of a business across the street.
"When it hits close to home, when it hits on your block, you have no option but to think, man, I hope this doesn't get any worse than it already did," Grochowski said.
Police say they're still investigating what led up to the shooting and they're searching for suspects.
Grochowski, who's lived in the area for seven years, says the violence needs to stop.
"It's really brutal and it's a small, cruel world, I guess."
