3 pets perish in Hartland fire, no other injuries reported

HARTLAND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Hartland Fire Department was dispatched to a possible fire structure on Saturday, Feb. 17. 

It happened near Millington and Lakeview. 

The fire department entered with help from police and found heavy smoke conditions on the second floor of the living space. 

They began to search the unit, according to the fire department. Heavy smoke and fire was found in the kitchen and extinguished. 

The search found no occupants in the home. However, two cats and a dog were located. Resuscitations were attempted but were unsuccessful, according to the fire department. 

The cause of fire is under investigation.
