33-year-old arrested in connection with Wauwatosa PNC Bank robbery

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) — A 33-year-old Milwaukee resident was arrested Tuesday in connection with a robbery at a PNC Bank in Wauwatosa.

According to the Wauwatosa Police Department, officers responded to the bank on North 124th Street around 1 p.m. Saturday for a reported robbery.

Police said a person entered the bank, demanded money from employees and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon was displayed or implied during the robbery.

Investigators reviewed evidence, used technology and followed leads that police said quickly led them to identify a suspect.

A search warrant was executed at a Milwaukee residence shortly before 6:15 p.m. Tuesday. Officers arrested the 33-year-old suspect and recovered several pieces of evidence from the home.

Police said charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the coming days. Investigators do not believe any other suspects were involved.

"I am incredibly proud of the officers' and investigators' efforts and the quick resolution to arrest the suspect in this case," Wauwatosa Police Chief James MacGillis said. "Robberies can have a lasting impact on a community, creating fear and making people question their sense of safety. The Wauwatosa Police remain steadfast in providing dedicated service and protection for all. This case demonstrates that commitment."
