MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — A 33-year-old was killed in a shooting Wednesday evening on Milwaukee's northwest side.

According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. in the 7100 block of West Appleton Avenue.

The victim was struck by gunfire and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating what led up to the shooting and are searching for an unknown suspect or suspects.
