4 Wisconsin fairs canceled in 2020 due to COVID-19

WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Four Wisconsin fairs set to take place in 2020 have been canceled amid the coronavirus pandemic. The four include: Jefferson County Fair, Northern Wisconsin State Fair, Waukesha County Fair, and Washington County Fair. 

The announcement was made Monday, June 1. 

A news release from the Waukesha County Fair Association says for an average of 135 years, Wisconsin fairs have been creating memories and traditions for all ages. 2020 has us feeling like we are on a midway ride that keeps surprising us with every turn. As a united community, we announce our cancellations today heavy-hearted, yet #FairStrong!" 

The four canceled fairs are set to take place again in 2021. 

Jefferson County Fair has been rescheduled for July 7-11, 2021. 

Northern Wisconsin State Fair has been rescheduled for July 7-11, 2021. 

Waukesha County Fair has been rescheduled for July 21-25, 2021. 

Washington County Fair has been rescue led for July 20-25, 2021.
