41-year-old Oak Creek man dies in Eau Claire crash

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 41-year-old Oak Creek man died in a rollover crash in Eau Claire on Friday, Dec. 13.

According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), Elvis Mejia was traveling westbound on I-94 around 9 p.m., when he lost control and entered the median. Inside the vehicle was Mejia, two teen girls, and a 41-year-old woman.

Officials say the vehicle rolled, struck a guardrail, and came to rest on its side on the eastbound median shoulder.

During the crash, Mejia and one of the teens was ejected from the vehicle. Mejia was pronounced dead at the scene.

The three females were transported to an Eau Claire hospital.

Authorities say all four passengers were not wearing seat belts.

The crash remains under investigation.
