Souls to the Polls hosts block party to encourage voting
WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The fourth annual Have Heart fundraiser was held on Friday, Feb. 16 at Waukesha West High School
At a summer league game in 2018, a Waukesha West basketball player suffered cardiac arrest and ventricular fibrillation.
David Skogman was saved by an automated external defibrillator.
Two years later, the first Have Heart fundraiser happened, benefitting Project Adam at Children's Wisconsin.
The president of the Waukesha West Junior Boys Basketball Program tells us they've raised over $20,000.
"Been able to provide EKG testing, AED's in school's, training, and a lot of great stuff that we're very proud of," said Tim Guilette, president of the program.
Skogman now plays division one basketball at Davidson College in North Carolina.
The fundraiser also honors Kai Lermer, a Waukesha North student who passed away from cardiac arrest.
