56th Shamrock Club of Wisconsin St. Patrick’s Day Parade returns March 9

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's largest St. Patrick's Day celebration is a little more than a month away.

The 56th Shamrock Club of Wisconsin St. Patrick's Day Parade returns on March 9.

Starting at N. Dr. Martin Luther King Drive and W. Wisconsin Avenue, the parade marches through the downtown entertainment districts, ending at Water Street and Highland Avenue.

About 20,000 people are expected to attend to see the Irish dancers, pipes, floats and more.

“The St. Patrick’s Day Parade is one of Milwaukee’s oldest traditions, and we have an exciting event in store for you this year,” said Mike Boyle, parade director of the Shamrock Club of Wisconsin. “Although Milwaukee is known for its German heritage, the Irish community also has deep roots in the city. We look forward to celebrating the Celtic culture with you on March 9!”
