6-year-old dies in Waukesha 3-vehicle crash, investigation ongoing

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A three-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Hwy. 59 and S. West Ave. in Waukesha at around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29.

The city's communication center was notified, and both the Waukesha Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene.

A press release issued on Thursday, March 30 notes that responders administered lifesaving measures to the individuals involved before transporting them to Waukesha Memorial Hospital for advanced care.

A 6-year-old child later succumbed to the injuries sustained in the crash.

While an investigation is ongoing regarding the circumstances behind the crash, all drivers involved have reportedly been released from the scene and are cooperating with investigators. The area of Hwy. 59 and S. West Ave. experienced temporary closure due to the incident.
