$60,000 car bought with bad check, returned stripped for parts

MARSHFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Police in Marshfield are investigating a fraudulent car purchase involving a $60,000 check later found to have nonsufficient funds.
According to a report from the Marshfield Police Department, a man and woman purchased a vehicle from Wheelers of Marshfield on Saturday, June 28. The check, written by the woman, was reportedly later rejected by the bank.
The 26-year-old man eventually returned the vehicle, but police say parts had been removed and sold. Police later made contact with him and cleared him of wrongdoing in the investigation.
Investigators believe the woman, identified as 48-year-old Jaime Sue Woelbing, may be tied to other incidents around the state involving worthless checks and stripped vehicles.
Police also say she is known to use aliases including Boring, Rightmire and variations of Woelbing.
Anyone with information about these schemes is asked to call Marshfield police at (715) 384-0816.
