RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) — A 30-year-old Racine man is dead and a 63-year-old woman has been arrested following a shooting that police say stemmed from an argument between family members early Sunday morning.

According to the Racine Police Department, officers were called shortly before 3:15 a.m. to a residence on Russet Street for a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a 30-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Officers attempted lifesaving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a verbal argument occurred between family members before another family member arrived at the residence and fired a gun, striking the victim, according to police.

A 63-year-old woman accused of firing the weapon was arrested.

Police said a charge of first-degree intentional homicide is being referred to the Racine County District Attorney's Office for review.

Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Anyone with additional information or video related to the shooting is asked to contact the Racine Police Department.
